· Academics: Austin Ohlmeier
o Nominated by Dan Clark
o “Austin ‘sets the bar’ for other students to follow in my advanced physical education class with his attitude, work ethic, unselfishness, and positive role modeling.”
· Arts: Charitty Moellman
o Nominated by Debbie Baldwin
o “She has gotten involved with drama and worked diligently for the last play – she also has a job working many hours outside of school, so with many stressors is working very hard to stay involved, be a good student and accomplish her goals.”
· Athletics: Tyler Henness
o Nominated by Lisa Collier
o “I actually couldn’t decide between Athletics and Academics for Tyler because he truly is amazing in both categories. I think everyone knows why he would be nominated for athletics because he is successful at everything he does but I appreciate his dedication in the classroom at the same time. Athletics is not always his main focus and I appreciate that. He is also just a fun person to be around!”
· Academics: Faith Johnson
o Nominated by Debbie Baldwin and John Menefee
o “Her outstanding marks recently on PSAT test, putting her in line to become a National Merit Finalist to represent Paola High School.” (Baldwin)
o “Faith is an outstanding student who takes academics seriously, as evidenced by her GPA. She is also a stellar FFA Member who contributes too many of our district and state winning teams. She always goes above and beyond what is expected on assignments and is a joy to have in class. There is no one more qualified for this award than Faith.” (Menefee)
· Arts: Lane Harris
o Nominated by Lisa Collier
o “Lane was in the last two play productions and was awesome! Lane also is very active in choir and madrigals, having also made the District Choir this year.”
· Athletics: Tyler Hieber
o Nominated by Todd Weaver and Debbie Baldwin
o “He is the most unselfish athlete I have seen during my time here at PHS, he would do anything for his teammates, coaches, and school. He is also a very dedicated athlete.” (Weaver); “During the play-offs I saw this young man commonly at McDonald’s using the WI-FI to have a good internet connection going over game film of past players who excelled at the same position he plays…going beyond what is expected. He is also an outstanding student both academically and with his involvement with our fine arts programs.” (Baldwin)

"The Paola community has been outstanding and the volunteers that have stepped up to form The Paola Panther Booster Club are outstanding. They have definitely seen a need to help support our schools, both academics and activities, and help offset the many budget cuts we have faced the past three years. Without their support, even more would be cut to balance our budget. Unified School District #368 has a proud tradition of excellence both inside and outside the classroom. This support will help keep this tradition alive."
